“I love to create art, and with my contemporary abstract oil paintings, I hope to reach the hearts of the viewers and make them happy.”

Why do I paint?

I am emotionally attached to my work. It is about creating a story. A story communicating without spoken words, allowing us to slow down and forget our busy world for a while. A story to make people smile by reaching out to their hearts.

Painting is to create something by myself. So, join me on a visual journey. A journey to allow you to understand emotions, and appreciate the small things in life. Just by looking at my works the viewer loses himself in the dialogue between the colours.

It is my inspiration, translated to the canvas, inspiring the viewer to contribute with his reflections to make the painting complete. So complete that he wants to bring it into his home to decorate the walls.

My art-life phase

Born in Hamburg, Germany, I am living in Luxemburg since many years. I am a mostly self-taught artist. To paint is my inspiration, and after some life-changing events a few years back I decided to take my art more professionally and to make a career out of it.

I paint to inspire people to observe and to discover the beauty in nature and the immediate vicinity.

Going from realistic to abstract has been a natural development since I feel I can express myself better. The abstract reflects my love for colour and nature, which is where I find my inspiration.

Abstract painting creates space for the viewer and the painter to bring their imagination and thoughts to meet. And by experimenting, my artworks become extraordinary.

Inspiration and Techniques

The creative process is an interplay between accuracy and intuitive impulses. Often the subtleties at the end are the most important.

I build the colours in several layers with a palette ranging from soft and serene to vibrant and invigorating. Only in the later steps I add the strong colour accents, lines, and sometimes large amounts of paint. Colours can express the full range of human emotions and experience, so they are quite important to me.

I wish to achieve balance and to reach beauty in the contrasting forces between chaos and harmony. The colour transitions in my paintings are diverse: sometimes they are sharp and other times they emerge into soft and subtle shifts.

The thin splashes with the spatula give every work its characteristic touch, and it is in these abstract breakpoints where my creativity and joy for painting flourish and affect.
